Overview​

Microsoft Teams Chat displays direct Teams messages (1:1 chats) via Microsoft Graph.

Main Features​

  1. Open "Microsoft Teams Chat" in the sidebar
  2. View chats in the chat list (left)
  3. Select a chat to read and send messages
  4. Use Search in the search field

Message Features​

  • Text, emojis, @mentions
  • Edit, Delete, Reactions
  • Read receipts, Forward, Pin/Mute
  • Chat settings
  • Manage members (group chat): ⋯ (top right) → Manage members — add or remove people (Microsoft Graph)

Desktop notifications​

New messages in other Teams chats appear as Teams-style toasts (app in foreground) or overlay (desktop app in background), when Settings → Notifications has Desktop notifications and Chat messages enabled. In the currently open chat, the message thread updates directly; additional toasts also appear there for new incoming messages (polling).

Muted chats send no banners.
