Optional Connected Experiences in Sparks for Teams

Sparks for Teams offers optional cloud-based services that enhance your experience – such as GIF search (Giphy) and URL preview. These services are optional. Whether you use them is entirely up to you.

Overview​

These optional services:

  • are provided by external or cloud-based providers,
  • enhance Sparks functionality (e.g. GIFs in chats, link previews),
  • are enabled by default but can be disabled anytime in settings.

Setting in Sparks for Teams​

To enable or disable optional connected experiences:

  1. Open Settings → Privacy
  2. Find the option Optional connected experiences
  3. Toggle the switch on or off as desired

Available Services​

With Giphy you can search for and insert GIFs in your chats. When you use the GIF search, your search terms are sent to the Giphy service. Use is subject to Giphy's privacy and terms of service.

URL Preview​

When URL preview is enabled, links in messages are analyzed to display a preview (title, description, image). For this, the URL is sent to a preview generation service.

Privacy​

The optional services are provided under their own privacy and terms of service. When you use these services, the respective provider's conditions apply. The main Sparks application is governed by the Sparks Privacy Policy.
