Dialog: Room Settings

How to Open​

  • In Chat (group chat): Open room → ⋯ → Manage members (Members tab) or Room settings (General tab)
  • Or right-click on room in list → "Room settings"
  • Opens as a dialog with tabs (General, Members, …)

Typical Settings​

  • Change room name and description
  • Adjust avatar (room image)
  • Notifications (sounds, mentions)
  • Version history / encryption
  • Members view, invite, remove. On the Members tab, use the Add people button → Add People dialog – search Matrix and (with MS login) Microsoft Entra users; MS users without Matrix can be invited via email or MS Teams chat.
  • Permissions for messages and invitations

Leave Room​

  • "Leave room" option in settings or context menu
