Dialog: Add Tab

How to Open​

  • Open chat room or channel
  • Click "+" or "Add Tab" in the tab bar
  • Dialog shows integrated and custom options

Options​

Integrated Tabs​

Custom Tabs​

  • External web apps via URL
  • Enter valid HTTP or HTTPS URL
  • Examples: shared Google Docs, Notion, Confluence, internal dashboards
  • Note: Sites with X-Frame-Options: DENY or SAMEORIGIN block embedding

Workflow​

  1. Open room/channel
  2. Click "+" or "Add Tab"
  3. Choose integrated tab (Polls/Whiteboard) or enter custom URL
  4. For custom: Confirm URL → tab loads
  5. Tab appears next to conversation

Manage​

  • Right-click on tab header:
    • Remove: Remove tab from room
    • Open in new window: Open tab separately
  • Order: Drag & drop tabs to reorder (if supported)

Limitations​

  • Custom tabs: Some sites do not allow embedding (security policies)
  • On errors: Check URL, prefer HTTPS, try different URL
  • Right-click → Open in new window bypasses iframe restrictions
